Andrea Vignali is an Italian chef, restaurateur, and one of Australia's most-watched food creators, with over 16 million monthly social views across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Born in Robbiate near Milan, Lombardy, he trained in Michelin-starred kitchens including Pierino Penati, then spent five years at Melbourne institution Grossi Florentino before founding his own restaurant during the 2020 pandemic.
In November 2025, Andrea won the IX Campeonato Mundial de Tapas (World Tapas Championship) in Valladolid, Spain, with his tapa "Humo bajo la tapa" — a smoked kangaroo consommé with hand-cut kangaroo tartlet and Iberian ham. First prize: €10,000. He is the first Australian chef to win the title.
Andrea is the founder and head chef of Al Dente Enoteca , an award-winning modern Italian restaurant in Carlton, Melbourne. The restaurant has been named in Melbourne's Top 50 Restaurants by The Age Good Food Guide and Australia's Top 25 Italian Restaurants . Born from a pandemic-era pasta delivery service in 2020, Al Dente Enoteca now serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week.
